Christmas Cookies

Grandma Bergen got a new kitchen this week! She upgraded to some beautiful granite countertops and a stone backsplash. We went over to take in all the newness and she had all the dough ready to bake some Christmas cookies with the kids. They loved that and I love her new kitchen :) No better way to feel homey and holiday than baking cookies with grandma. These pictures even turned out better because everyone looks festive in the red shirts, and we didn't even plan that!

My View

This is my view of Paisley most mornings. She has crazy hair that is hard to get under control most days and even if I do get it to lay down it usually is a mess after a nap or something. Alana I think she may end up with your hair, which would be awesome! But during baby growing put phase it is pretty funny. She is quite the ham in her carseat. I tried to catch her doing some of her faces, but that was hard to do while driving so this is the best I got.

A Bear Award

Ethen worked really hard this past year and earned his cub scout Bear award. He also earned a few arrow points for all the electives he did as well (like 20). It was a great night of awards for him and in Jan. when he turns ten he will join the Webelos group. As a side note, Ethen is getting really tall and seeming so grown up these days. I think he will outgrow me in just a couple more years - maybe less. I'm not that tall so it won't be hard to get taller than me, but it is sad to have him getting so grown up. I probably shouldn't be thinking about him going off to college just yet, but it seems to be going by way too fast.

Happy Thanksgiving

We had our Thanksgiving dinner over at the Barr's this year. I just love a good feast :) Luke really wanted to take the leg home and was upset that I was telling him it had to stay. But sweet Aunt Tina made his day by letting him take both home in a bag. He calls them his turkey sticks.

Thanksgiving break has started and it is only 10 a.m. Monday morning. This is what the kids do to occupy their time. Should I be worried?

LUkeism

This morning at the breakfast table:

Luke: What are these things?
Me: Those are almonds, a kind of nut.
Luke: Oh I don't want them
Me: you should try them you might like them and they are good for you.
Luke: They might be good for you, but their not good for me!

Hahahahahahahahaha

COULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH WORSE

We have now experienced a slight cutting of the hair episode in our household. Luke took the scissors to Paisley this morning, but luckily it wasn't the back of the hair and luckily it wasn't all that much. PHEW!

Birthday friend

For a surprise for my friend Melanie's B-Day we all took something from our halloween costumes for her to put on and then we took her out to IHOP for breakfast. She was such a good sport and didn't even try to get out of it once. The looks people were giving her were priceless and hilarious. Even better was that the place was PACKED! This was the morning after Halloween so people thought she had just been up all night and not gone home, but all the rest of us were dressed normal. However, now I am slightly nervous about my birthday and what I might get as payback.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

We turned out a TON of candy this year and fun was had by all.

Paisley is getting away from Ethen's scary face. She was terrified of all skeleton masks this year. It didn't matter if you took it off she didn't want anything to do with them.
Luke was sooo sweet and would hold Paisley's hand to help her along.
Luke was SWEATING in his vinyl costume since it was like 70 degrees and finally he couldn't take it anymore and had to get it halfway off.

PUMPKIN TIME!
I actually love to carve pumpkins and the only bad part about living in TX is that you have to wait till the day before halloween to carve or they will shrivel up since we are still pretty warm here.

He wouldn't touch the gooey insides of the pumpkin, but had no problem with this! hahaha

The final product :) Ethen's, Phoebe's , Luke & Paisley's

Luke's preschool Halloween party. He was the hardest hitter on the pinata! Some kids barely tapped it, but he was full out swings. And he was sweet enough to let Paisley share his food.

A friend put together a little halloween party for the toddlers and Paisley and Luke had a great time. Luke was a pro at eating donuts off a string.

COTTON CANDY
This stuff is a tried a true staple to carnivals all over. I still love how it just melts on your tongue. Here's to the school carnival and cotton candy :)
