Paisley Visits the ER

Our little Paisley took a spill off a kitchen chair and it came right down on top of her.  Poor girl was such a trooper and hardly even cried when they had to give her the lidocaine shot for the stitches.  The doctor had two nurses come in and strap her in a blanket to keep her from kicking and wriggling all over the place, but she didn't even flinch or scream out.  I couldn't believe how brave she was.  We think she will have a couple of black eyes once the swelling goes down, but are grateful she didn't have a concussion.  Warning...the pictures are pretty graphic, although we think she kinda just looks like an Avatar (only not blue and with blonde hair)

Feeling tired and yucky

So tiny in the bed, but cuddled up warm with her blankie
 All stitched up

On our way out and happy to have a orange Popsicle

Ethen the Pogo Stick Jumping Machine

Ethen has been pogo jumping a lot lately. It is hard to do and a pretty major workout when done for long periods of time. I think he has been up for 10 minutes and his record is 636 in a row. And it is fun too watch. There is a video down at the bottom of this post.  Yes it is dark, he was doing this at like 10 o'clock at night.

Achievement Days Pinewood Derby

Phoebe had a girls only Pinewood Derby this past week.  Scott was able to get out the tools and get Phoebe's bug design cut out and it turned out so cute. The cars were so cute that all the girls made. It was really fun too see all the different designs.   It was recognition night for the achievement days girls and what a great and fun way to recognize them all. Phoebe has been able to attend achievement days since she turned 8 and she loves going. She has some really fun leaders that take the time out of their busy schedules to have fun and teach the girls great lessons. Phoebe is growing into such a beautiful young woman both inside and out and we couldn't be more proud of her.

Time to sell some Lemonade

Scott built this awesome lemonade stand for the kids and today was a perfect day to try it out.  Luckily he was able to help them with hauling it down the street to the corner.  There is a little more traffic there and I think they made about $15

Scott, Our Pro Surfer

Here is a video of Scott doing some wake surfing. He is by far the best at it.

egg hunt video - Luke and Phoebe

egg hunt video Paisley

Easter Egg hunts galore!

Every year we have an Easter egg hunt with a group of friends. Our kids are getting bigger and this picture is only of the little ones that were actually still young enough and interested in hunting this year. We sure do know how to have babies!
 Sisters with their eggs

Luke found a football while hunting for eggs, he is so funny!

We also went to the hunt put on by the city.  They put out 30,000 eggs every year and it is slightly chaotic with parents and kids all running.  A very well organized chaos.  We have lived here 11 years and never went to the city hunt so this year we decided to check it out.  Here are Luke and Phoebe getting ready to go.
little train ride
They had pony rides and the kids loved that.  All this put on by the city for free!

And finally we also attended our neighborhood Easter hunt and party.  This year Paisley was not afraid of the Easter Bunny.

Pictures in the Texas State Bluebonnets

We have lived in the great state of Texas for 11 years now and I finally got the kids out in time to take pictures with the beautiful state flower. We found a nice little patch of them close to our house by some soccer fields.  They are so pretty and really pop in the green grass.  They are only at peak bloom for a few weeks.
Here are a few pictures of my beautiful babies in the Bluebonnets.

March 31st and out on the Lake!

This is the earliest we have been able to take the boat out ever. It has been in the 80's for the last week or so and it was time to get the boat cleaned up, so we got out on the water and enjoyed our first spring boating of the year. The water was still a bit cold but not freezing and Scott, Ethen, and Phoebe even got some surfing in. The fantastic part is that we have never seen the lake so high! All the wonderful rain we have been getting over the last month has filled her up and we are so grateful. What a difference from the end of the summer last year when the dock wasn't even in water and I had to swim out to the boat to get on.

Grandma's Quilt for Luke

Grandma has been in the quilting mood and luckily the kids have been the recipients! She has been asking them what colors they like and Luke is loving orange right now. I LOVE orange and so I really love this quilt. Grandma said she isn't the proudest of this one, but we think it is wonderful. She picked out some really fun fabrics for Luke. He sleeps with it every night.

Maverick Likes To Sit

Maverick is such a funny little pup. He likes to sit. It doesn't look right for a dog to sit the way he does sometimes, but it sure is cute!
