Shark Tooth

This is kinda a gross picture, but I thought worth noting. Phoebe should have lost her 1st tooth by now and hasn't. This tooth is growing in behind her baby tooth (hence not pushing out the baby one). Ethen did this with his 1st teeth as well, but I had forgotten. Eventually it gets loose and comes out as the bigger one grows into place. If it doesn't then that will be a really fun trip to the dentist to pull it! She really just wants to loose it already so the tooth fairy will come. For now she is Sharkgirl :)

Back to Work

Scott is once again gainfully employed! He starts with Constructors/StructureTone next Monday. We have all really enjoyed having him around the last month, but we knew it had to come to an end eventually. I guess we have to pay the bills. He will be an assistant account executive and working on the owners side of things now. I am really greatful that he is able to secure work so easily.

Groovin'

I am not sure if this looks like dancing or turrets, but it sure is cute. Paisley LOVES music and it is like her body has to groove to it.

Following

This takes following your footsteps to a whole new level. This ladder is a 10 step and Paisley just followed Luke right up to the top and then screamed when I took her off. These 2 are fearless. I can only imagine what they will be up to in a couple years!

New Paint

With Scott home (i.e. jobless) he decided to get busy painting some rooms. So now we have 2 more rooms painted and I am always amazed at how great paint can change a room and make it more alive. The orange is in our master bath. Scott did most of the actual painting with me helping a little on the trim, but I did the glaze over the orange. It is hard to see in the pictures, but looks heavier in person. The blue is in the office, I think it looks great against all the white.

Pinewood Derby

We had the annual cubscout pinewood derby yesterday. This entailed some hours of planning and executing the plans. Ethen worked really hard at making a sleek car to race ( oh and Ethen means Scott doing most of the actual work with Ethen standing by cheering him on) Really they came up with a nice design and were able to tie for 2nd this year. The fun part of that is the tie was with his cousin Peter! That is two 2nd places for Ethen now. If there would have been head to head eliminations Ethen would have had 1st for sure, his car was definately the fastest except for on lane 1 where it would hop and lose momentum a little. Does that sound really competitive? I am not one of those psycho parents, really!

Uh-oh

In my last post I mentioned that we were going to have our hands full pretty quick; I meant we HAVE our hands full! You can see on Luke's face that he knows this was a BIG Uh-OH. I just couldn't help documenting it though. I think he has figured out that if I am getting the camera out he isn't getting in as much trouble. Luckily most of this paint came up-you can see just a bit of blue still there in the picture. What fun times we are having with these little ones of ours :)

Another one! What are we breeding?

Paisley decided to get in on the painting action (I will post later on the paint). She is 11 months old and already joining in the climbing just like Luke did! I think our hands are going to be full here pretty quick :)

BLOOPERS

I just love blooper videos. Big shots in action here! Should these guys actually be "teaching" their boys how to ski and snowboard?

I love Nathan's commentary and laugh on these, it's infectious!!

Rock Band

Rock fan, crazy Uncle Nathan
The young boys showed everyone how to jam on Rock Band. They even had to show John and his college buddies how it is done

Snowboarding Bliss

Scott and Ethen took a perfect snowboarding trip to Utah for Ethen's 9th birthday. They had perfect conditions with TONS of powder. Ethen takes after his father in finesse on the slopes. He looks like he has been doing this forever. Nathan and Graeme came up to have fun on the slopes too. Thanks to Dad and Phil for the sweet hookups! :)

Not happening

Well after 2 full days of zero success on the potty I decided to take Julie's advice and not push it. Scott is out of town for the rest of the week and that was going to make it harder anyway. I think I will try again in about a month and hopefully it will go better then.

Tradition

This one is for Dad! I think it was a much LESS traumatic experience than it was for Alana. Do many families have this tradition?

Your Place to buy and sell all things Handmade

You may not know it, but I love online shopping! No crowds and no worrying the babies are touching everything or running off somewhere. I feel you might want to know about an awesome site called www.Etsy.com . It is the place to buy pretty much anything you can think of and it is all one of a kind handmade stuff. I really love all the adorable kids clothes on here. Alison, you would be a perfect person to open up shop and sell your adorable creations. Beware - it is hard to get away from looking at stuff once you get there.

Disclaimer

I thought I would be nice to Scott and put in this disclaimer for him. The Justin Timberlake on our playlist is all mine. Yes, I know he is for teenage girls to listen to, but I like his beats. My guilty pleasure. I know you all have them too so don't laugh too hard :)

Potty Training

So I have been telling myself that once the diapers from this pack are gone that I will start potty training Luke. We have never waited so long to start this process and I am seriously sick of changing 2 babies diapers. Yesterday it started and he gets so mad every time I tell him to go. Subconsiously I must have put this off for so long on purpose. I forgot how much of a pain it is! Today I still left his diaper on for half the day and when I finally got around to it pulled out the last clean pair of Go, Diego , Go undies. To this Luke said,"I don't want underwear, I wear diapers" Yet another sign that it is time to get this done. I started this now and really need to go for it. If Luke gets the idea that he has a choice in the matter then he will choose not to. Does anyone remember how to potty train a boy? I will keep you updated on the nonprogress I am sure :)

Funny Lukey

Our Luke is always making us laugh. Here are some pics to show you the kind of stuff he comes up with all on his own!

Why I Love Texas

Although there is something to be said about having winter, I am not really a fan of the cold. Here is why I love living in Texas! It is January 5th and the temp topped out at 77 degrees today. It may be 35 again tomorrow, but today we had fun at the park in our shorts :)

None of the other kids at the playground could do this, so I thought I would give Phoebe her spotlight and show you how strong she is. Somehow all our kids have serious muscles.

Happy New Year

Here I go! Seems like it is time to try this blogging thing. A new year and new thing for me to attempt :)

We spent Christmas at home this year for the first time in 6 years. Ethen and Phoebe woke up at 4:30 in the morning and tried to sneak down to everything without me knowing. I am the lightest sleeper on earth and heard their feet before they made it to the tree. They went back up to bed for a couple more hours luckily. Scott tortured them by making them wait till he turned on the fire and got the lights all on. They lined up with Ethen holding Paisley and marched out with huge grins to finally see what Santa left. It was stockings first and Phoebe was so excited to be opening she pulled something out and yelled "awesome!, what is it?" She didn't care what it was, but was soo excited. That is classic Phoebe for you. Paisley was in total shock at the whole site and just looked around wide eyed for hours before she started boogieing to karaoke. All Luke wanted for Christmas was a horn. So Santa brought him a really annoying, loud one on a tricycle. Ethen kept everyone moving the presents along and we had a really great day.
